SHARE Support Groups

Each semester, SHARE offers weekly, in-person support groups for students (undergraduate, graduate and professional) who have experienced sexual misconduct of any form, at any time in their life. These groups will provide a space for survivors to connect with peers to discuss shared experiences and to heal through multiple modalities, such as:

  • mindfulness practices

  • creative arts

  • trauma-informed yoga

  • journaling

  • sound healing

Rather than focusing on the details of individuals’ specific sexual misconduct experience(s), each session will center around a predetermined, participant-generated theme. Topics may include:

  • self care

  • boundary-setting

  • navigating disclosures to friends, partners, family members, etc.

  • accessing resources at Yale and beyond

  • sexuality and intimacy

  • self-image

  • mental health and wellbeing

Each group will be facilitated by two SHARE clinicians.

A brief phone or Zoom informational screening conversation with a member of our team is required prior to participation. Once it is determined that the group is an appropriate fit, folks are welcome to attend any number of sessions throughout the semester. The group will remain open for new members to join at any point as well.

Group day/time and location will be determined based on feedback from participants. Details forthcoming.
